You're getting disagrees because it isn't a problem of the BD speed...it is a problem of devs not laying the info onto the BD in and BD optimized fashion...if you burn a BD in the same pattern as a DVD you are going to have seek issues.
The 'problem' is NOT the speed of the drive...4+ years in and people still spout bullshit.
The datathroughput of the PS3 BD drive is the same or better than DVD9.

That isn't necessarily true...Sony said they have the ability to have it on iOS...the issue is Apple's closed garden and its handling of game sales meaning 30% of the revenue flows to Apple for doing fuck all.
